Steelworks Studio
Sheffield, England
When the production team that is Steelworks bought up the old Fon studio in Sheffield, there simply weren't enough rooms for the three guys to do what they do best, ie writing and producing hits for the likes of the Spice Girls, Take That, 911, Five, Blush, and others.
The main control room was great for final mixdown work, but Eliot and Tim each needed a room to write in, and there was no vocal booth, only a live room.
The space that was liberated by the sale of the analog multitrack was just right for a small pre-prod room for Tim
and the recreation room across the corridor had that bit more space for Eliot.
And next to Eliot's room (now known as Studio 2) we created this lovely little booth.
